Location

  • Bemidji State University is located in a beautiful setting in northern Minnesota. Our campus is situated on the shores of a 6,000 acre lake. Several social events will be incorporated in our summer program. On and off campus housing will be available.

There are several ways in which you may enter the program.

  1. For Minnesota residents, a grant from the U.S. Department of Education has been received. The course is free to currently licensed teachers who teach in Minnesota. The grant will be responsible for tuition costs of and university fees. The program requires participation in the course from June 13 - July 1, 2016. To apply we require a commitment from your school to ensure that participants will be allowed the freedom and encouragement to implement an activities based, constructivist approach to mathematics instruction.
  2. A second way of entering the program will be allowed for those who are willing to pay for their own expenses. Because of limited space, we may need to restrict the number who choose this option.

The criteria for selection will be based on the following

  1. Those who have shown a prior interest in teaching mathematics.
  2. Teachers from High Need school districts.
  3. Preference will be given to teachers who have a high number of Native American students.

A completed application will include

  1. Participant Application Form
